| Google Local Locates Businesses in a Specific Geographic Area Google searches and reports about the entire worldwide web. 2. From the Google Local homepageEnter the desired business category (such as "romantic restaurants") in the "What" field and the full address, city and state, or zip code in the "Where" field. Then click "Google Search." Relevant local business listings and a map of their locations appears on the page.
